Catholic Relief Services and partners piloted a health microinsurance product and delivered it through savings groups in Benin. We introduced a digital solution to improve efficiency and scalability. Many women in rural areas of Nicaragua give birth at home with minimal health services and little support from their husbands. Through the Child Survival Project, CRS and community members have helped fathers understand the importance of women’s health. As a result, the number of women delivering their babies in hospitals has increased by 60 percent, and 95 percent of the targeted couples have birth plans in place before delivery.
