My Rights Matter: Using Education to Combat Harmful Child Labor in Guatemala

  

CRS is combating hazardous forms of child labor through education in rural indigenous communities in four municipalities in Guatemala. This presentation describes how Catholic Relief Services and the Episcopal Commission for Catholic Education used iPod touch, iFormBuilder and GPS Cradle to map more than 2,300 Catholic schools in Haiti. The process involved training local partners to use and reuse the technology for education interventions.

Information Technology Training for People With Disabilities

  

This presentation outlines a vocational training program in Vietnam for young people with disabilities. More than 80 percent of the people who completed the program found full-time employment or internships. Catholic Relief Services presented the results at the Global Youth Economic Opportunities Conference in September 2012.

Enhancing IT Vocational Training and Employment Opportunities for Young Vietnamese With Disabilities

   People living with disabilities are among the most disadvantaged in Vietnam. This case study describes the Information Technology Training Program for People with Disabilities. Participants completed advanced courses in software engineering and computation. More than 80 percent of the program's graduates found full-time employment or internships.

Project ABC: The Impact of CRS' Adult Education and ABC Program on Education, Agriculture and Migration

This report provides the results of an evaluation of both CRS’ adult education program and a mobile phone-based adult education pilot program (Project Alphabetisation de Base par Cellulaire, or Project ABC) in Niger. Project ABC was implemented by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as part of its Multi-Year Assistance Program (MYAP), in collaboration with Tufts and Oxford Universities.

Supporting students in West Darfur through the Accelerated Learning Program

CRS is helping youth in West Darfur catch up in school through the Accelerated Learning Program. Implemented in 2010 by CRS, the West Darfur Ministry of Education and the Kulbus Locality of West Darfur, the program aims to provide the students with two academic school years in one year, following the Sudanese government curriculum of mathematics and Arabic reading and writing at an accelerated pace.
