Governance at the Grassroots: An Analysis of Local Government Structures in the Sahel Regions of Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali

This study analyzes governance issues in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. It focuses on the links between decentralization and local government's management of disaster risk reduction. The study offers recommendations to strengthen a project that builds resilience to climate change.

Catholic Relief Services commissioned Agence Corade to conduct this analysis. The project is part of the Building Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Extremes and Disasters (BRACED) program funded by DFID.
