This presentation outlines a vocational training program in Vietnam for young people with disabilities. More than 80 percent of the people who completed the program found full-time employment or internships. The curriculum included advanced courses in software engineering and computation.
The program sought to
- align training skills with the labor market,
- engage private corporations, the government and higher education institutions and
- help young people develop soft skills.
Catholic Relief Services presented the results in September 2012 at the Global Youth Economic Opportunities Conference, which was organized by Making Cents International and hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank.
